I want to give a shout out to Tom Hand who went way above and beyone the call to help me figure out where that mysterious thrust washer went. Tom even called me on his own "dime" to discuss it with me; dug through pages and pages of manuals to figure it out. Tom is an excellent example of the many wonderful people here who are willing to go out of their way to help a fellow enthusiast when a problem arises. I wanted to publicly thank Tom for his great help on this.

Now, for those of you who are wondering, the washer goes behind the snap ring inside the low-reverse drum (hope I have that right). Turns out, my tranny is newer than the car I got it from, and that was causing some of the I.D. problems. Again, when I gave Tom the serial no. from the tranny, it made sense. I'm going to try and post a couple pictures of where the washer goes. In one, you can see the snap ring, and in the other picture, I just sat the washer on top of the snap ring. The snap ring comes off, the washer goes on and then the snap ring will, of course, go back in.

Again - Tom! You were a God send! Thank you so very much!

Sincerely,

Dave
