I don't see why not. It's not recommended using different products but it shouldn't be a problem. I've done it before. Make sure you follow the directions on the PPG sealer as far as dry times.

You should be fine. Nason isnt the best product in my opinion though.

well here is the deal i have shot dbu ppg before many times and i am almost ready to shoot sealer. and i have the ppg ( white ) for sealer about 90 bucks for doing the whole 68 dart and i want to paint it viper red. well ppg cost 550.00 1 gallon of color and 170.00 for clear plus activator and bla bla bla . a friend of mine can get me a gallon in nason or sherwin williams for 50 bucks so my cost for material is cut way down.

If your planning on keeping this car spend the money for PPG or Dupont Chroma base. Nason is fine for a cheap paint job but will not hold out. Especially red. Don't be cheap on the most important part of the job. Next year when it's starting to fade and the shine is dying out you'll be kicking your behind. There's a reson why cheap paint is cheap. And just to let you know you don't need a gallon of color to do a Dart in base clear. 2 quarts of color is plenty. 2 quarts of color is a gallon of sprayable paint. You only should need 2 to 3 coats of color to cover the carif you use the proper sealer.. Then Clear it. I use 3 coats of clear for average reair and 4 coats if i'm going to sand and buff it .

I agree, don't be cheap on paint...50$ for Nason is cheap, 50$ for a gal of sherwin is another thing !! but with sherwin you need stabaliser AND reducer......Been painting for years with PPG and wouldn't change..Sherwin is my second favorite..

ALWAYS SPRAY 3 COATS OF BASE !! will keep you out of trouble, as mentioned by Dougsmopar, 2 quarts is enough, strongly recommend a good clear like Sherwin CC930 or Dupont 7900 both with medium activator

Hope advice helps

Daniel

We use Dupont Chroma Premier start to finish. They only recomend 2 to 3 coats of color if applied over proper sealer. There regular Chroma base will usually need 3 coats to get good coverage. Viper Red will cover in 2 coats over the white sealer. But i'm used to Chroma Premier. I know a few guys who use Nason only on cheap jobs like dealer work. Cause it's cheap and they will never see the car again.

Shremin is an OK brand. It ain't PPG or Dupont. Save a dime now spend a dollar latter. Omni sucks too. Put it this way , Macco uses nason. You got to love there 249.95 paint jobs. It's a very simple answer. You get what you pay for in automotive paints

No offence taken. I'm not big on PPG. It's nice paint i'm just partial to Dupont. And yes i was surprised my self to see value shade 1 for viper red but it is and covers in two coats.
