Finalizing the EFI setup on my current project and I now have to figure out an air intake/air filter setup. Using the FAST 1250CFM throttle body and the throttle lever is quite tall and will hit a normal air cleaner so the plan is to use a 90 degree hat with piping up to the front of the rad cradle and a cone style filter. I want to keep the height down as much as possible and I've found a hat that is only 3" tall but it also only has a three inch inlet. Is this big enough to feed a 500 inch engine or do I keep looking for one with a four inch outlet or????

The throttle levers on FAST TBs are intentionally long to cover all the variables. It's common to cut the lever down to clear the underside of an air cleaner.

A 3" inlet is pretty small, but it's the HP that would determine that. I made a custom base for a customer that cleared the linkage and allowed for a full circular 4" air cleaner.

Measure the throttle body inlet and come up with one
that size(and tubing ). Check your gas pedal movement
and see what ratio the arm needs to be before you
go cutting anything
