Took the Dart out this weekend to do some T&T on Saturday and race today, but had some bad luck. I think it kinda started this winter when I was welding holes shut in the firewal and the kick panel started on fire where the MSD 6AL was mounted. The edge of it got hot enough to melt the rev limiter chip. I thought it was toast for sure, but when I got the car back together, it fired right up and seemed to run fine. The car seemed to work perfectly on Sat. during T&T, running a new best, as well as the first time trial today. The second run the car seemed almost like it was loading up, even though it was not rich. During the run it would'nt hardly climb past 5000 RPM and the tach was bouncing all over the place. It would spit and sputter around 5K for a bit, then it would climb to 7200. I'd hit the next gear, and it would do the same thing all over again. Every run got worse from there. It will idle fine, but the tach would bounce around every once in a while. I ran an 11.34 yesterday, and the last run today was a 12.04! This problem was just one of the many things that went wrong this weekend. The CD player in my trailer got wet towing in the rain, and fried. The cabinet door right next to the windshield on the right side of the trailer came open on the way home and busted the windshield out of the Dart! What else can I break this weekend!

Forgot to mention that I replaced the pill, but not the box. Sorry.

Sorry bout the bad luck. Sounds like it is probable that the MSD is bad, but after what I eperienced today, just make sure that a jet did not fall out of the metering block

Ok. Thanks. I never thought of that. I'll look.

Double-check the reluctor gap..
Depending upon the brand of distributor, if this gap is too wide then the reluctor doesn't close fully and the MSD box may not fire reliably. Also be sure to have a solid 12V connections and kleen ground.

Just my $0.025..
