Well hello..I have been quiet but I am back with a question..my dad has a 93 Dakota he bought new, great truck went 300,000+ miles before the tranny finally puked on it, hard to sell truck so we are parting it out..truck has an 8 1/4 diff..I think it has a 3.55 SG/posi, whatever they called them at this point.

I have a 73 Duster, currently 7 1/4 but I found an A-body 8 1/4 froma 74 Duster. Is the "unit" and pinion from the Dakota a direct switch over? If so I can take it to a good local shop and let them install and set lash, etc.

And, I appreciate your time, help and m&m's
