After my son installed his 508 inch RB with INDY SR heads in his 1970 Challenger he noticed that the drivers side valve cover is touching the power brake booster.

Since this is probably a common problem, I was wondering any one had a solution to it.
Manual brakes is an option of course, if another brake booster is out. I have heard there is a better master cylinder to use than the stock boat anchor but don't remember where I saw the reference to it.

Thanks in advance.

Bruce

There are several different diameters of the power brake boosters that Mopar has used, the Hemi cars had smaller ones than the rest of the wedge or SB cars had

Manual disc brakes work fine, especially if you install the larger 11.75 rotors. You can get an offset bracket for the master cylinder. Mancini Racing carries them as do a bunch of other places.

Andy,
Which one of the adapters would we use for the 1970 challenger?

Thanks,

Bruce

Any of those can be made to fit an E body car. Check to see which one your car prefers. Some cars have mounting studs in the firewall, other cars have holes in the firewall and the MC has the pressed in studs. It varies by year and model.

I got this one from Master Power Brakes, it has an 8-inch diameter booster, clears fine with Indy heads

Once again thanks. Good information.
I like that power booster.

I will pass the information along to my son.

I have manual front discs/rear drums on my charger. It stops great.
