I am wondering if there is a difference in height between a '68 post-top plymouth satellite (2 door) vs a '68 hardtop plymouth gtx. If so what is it? and can I take a roof off a hard top and put it on the post car to make it a hard top? Any suggestions?

There are differences between the sizes of rear windows and the post cars have no provisions for window regulators. It would be a lot of work to turn a post car into a hardtop.

Side glass is different for sure, and no quarter glass regulators of course on the coupes.
Satellites were not available in a coupe body, but if you're talking about a base Belvedere coupe, they're quite rare.

Is there a way to do this?

Sure. Buy a hardtop car. I dont mean to be blunt, but its the best way. A lot of people like post cars. Sell the one you have and buy a HD

The roof structure and skin are the same. The differneces are as follwos:

Door Jamb: Coupe is a solid, hardtop has a slot for window to come up out of:
Post: Coupe has a post that is spot welded to upper structure and inner brace (where window regulator would bolt)
Glass: Coupe has a fixed frame window, door glass is a bit shorter with a rounded top rear corner. Hartop rear side glas is bolted to regulator (which will bolt into a coupe, if there is a slot for the glass to come out), door glass has sharper rear corner with a trim piece holding seal.
Interior trim: Coupe has a slot cut into the upper headliner trim and the rear metal interior panel. Hardtop does not.
Misc: Hartop car will have some various stops and bumpers bolted to the inner structure to act as stops for the rear windows. Also, there is an extra piece of door jamb rubber on the hardtop, as well as an extra set of fuzzies.

I have both a hardtop and couple road runner so I can make the comaprison. I am pretty sure I got everything.
