Howdy

I have aftermarket roller rockers but I can't shim them properly because I still have stamped stock hold downs. I want to buy hold-downs that will have flat sides so I can use shims to properly locate the rockers and quiet and stabilize my valvetrain.

I have a pretty mild valvetrain- hydro flat tappet 6k max rpm. I am only hit 5-6k rpms once in a while- I went with adjustable roller tip rockers for the adjustability and because I figured a .525 lift would wear better on the valve tip with a roller. I don't want 'cheap' but I don't need to spend big bucks on a simple
part...

Suggestions?

RAS has good stuff and the Hughes parts are also nice and beefy. I haven't had much luck with the billet aluminum hold downs that Mopar used to sell, the ones I bought always had to be reworked before they fit.

One thing to remember is that there is not a standard width for aftermarket rocker arms. So any hold down kit you buy might be too wide or not wide enough to fit your particular rocker arms. Every vendor builds their own stuff according to their own dimensions.

I got my Hughes kit from Mancini because they include the stud kit and shims for under $100.00
