Ran that same cam in a 451 low deck in a 73 Daster about 15 years ago, was very strong from about 3500-up so my gut says the stall seems a bit high for a Hydraulic cam because you're not gonna have a ton of RPM to play with beyond the flash RPM. It'll be quick, no doubt but it's still going to be pretty slushy inthe 35-55MPH range. I ran 3.91's with a 26 x 9.5 dot slick and a 10" T/A that stalled/flashed right at 3200/3800, perfect street/strip combo, ran right at 7 flat (best of 6.96) in the 1/8th with home ported 452's. I ran 2" pro parts headers on it w/3.5' f/m pulse techs. Fun car but a touch too radical for the street back then.
Headers and carb are kinda small,
goes against the logic of running that cam and gear. I'd look at a solid in the 255-260 @ .050 range to get you another 500 rpm of Happy time upstaris with no downside. That cam is gonna want to breathe and that 3" collector is gonna limit he peak torque rpm to ~4000 from my experience, it'll want to peak ~4600 with that cam if your heads are decent.
That was a great cam, one of the best 440 upper bottom (3200-5800) cams out there. I sold it to a guy with a 440 powered drag boat
Why is your 70 Charger so heavy? Mine's all steel and has an aluminum head low deck but it only weighs 3650 empty....how big a boy are ya???
