thought i would check the schedule at quarter aces sight for times and saw where they are going to let any muscle car or probably any car for that matter race at the scheduled mopar only event this year.don`t know if this was the case at the ford or gm events this year but i don`t really care either.i wouldn`t think of sticking my nose in where it isn`t wanted.don`t know whose bright idea this was but don`t they realize we are there to see mopars and mopars only.we were thinking about going but now i`m not so sure

just think that takes time runs ,helps congest an already crowded pit area and takes away from some of the marq only event. would you want to buy a video of the mopar nats and see two camaros go down the track on somthing you paid 20 bucks to buy because you thought was a mopar event.just think more thought should have been put into it.

I agree with you, it is not cool at all.
But i cant change it. I wish i could!
Hopefully it will turn out mostly MOPAR!!!

I think it will make it more fan to hopefulley to se the mopar betup on brand x so bring a big stick

Wow.
When I read the topic I started thinking about running at the track instead of spending time at the show and swap meet. But not being an all Mopar event is making me think twice. I can race at my local track against everyone for better money vs entry fee. And spend a lot less money travelling.

Looks like there following what Classic events did last year at there races trying to bring in more $$$ . I`ll probably skip Carlisle altogether now. I don`t mind racing against other brands but I don`t have to travel 2 1/2- 3 hours to do it not to mention the dusty pits I had to Cal Car Duster off my truck 4 times last year. I would never bring my Dart there. I`ll never understand why these promotors do this , I know monies tight but Mopar people go to Mopar meets to race against and see other Mopars. Just another All Mopar Meet ruined by greed.

I sent an Email to the track to find out if the Super Car class is the only class open to all makes or are all classes open to them. As soon as I get a reply I will post it on here.

I couldn't imagine them allowing anything in during the Chrysler even so I just called them. Mopars only on Friday other then a couple brand X'ers to root against in the Supercar class.

i like any musclecar but still don`t understand why they have to schedule this race on the same day as the all chrysler event.since the chrysler contingent will be in town that weekend anyhow,couldn`t they havr done it on sat.to give the offbrands a little travel time and give some of the mopars their chance at the glory.most events have a mopar vs the world at a test and tune the nite before the actual show.

There is/was a Supercar race at all the big 3 Carlisle events (ford, gm, mopar) this year along with a display area for all the cars in the class on the fairgrounds etc. It was coordinated with Carlisle to promote the class.

This weekend is GM's at carlisle and they are racing all brands in the Supercar class tonight.

The class is comprised of mostly mopars so you'll see far more mopars than brand x'ers in that class.

Have any of you guys been to South Mountain and ran since it changed hands?

Hows the new surface? Management?

I might go if its improved but if it is still like the old South Mountain I will pass.......

I just got am email from the track confirming what CJK said: all entries will be Mopar bodied/ powered except for the Super Car Class, Sounds good to me See you all there.
