A buddy of mine just bought an 09 r/t 6 speed. He and another friend drove it to central newfoundland to break it in. He complained he kept missing shifts. When I sat in it I was surprised at the slopyness in the shifter. Are they all like this from the factory ... or is there a problem with this particular car?
Thanks
Glenn

I think that is what he is trying to find out. Is it a problem or is it by design.

I wonder how many Chrysler dealers there are in Newfoundland?

yes, the stock shifter has abit of slop in it.The trans also takes some getting used to, its very "notchy" espically when its new.I also think he is experiencing the "skip-shift" feature.
If you try to shift from 1-2 under 3k rpm, certian throttle, and temp postions the trans will block 2nd gear and force you to shift from 1-4. Its is very annoying and I suggest you get a skip shift elininator. Its only $15 and installs in a few min.The hardest part is jacking the car up lol. This is a must for these imo. Here's an ebay search: Link

Just driving it more will help too. You have to get used to how it shifts. I have ~4500 mi on mine now and I can make it shift nice even with the stock shifter.

get out there and put some miles on her

Thanks suprb70... This thing is brand new and I guess is not too sloppy.... just sloppy for a performance car
I guess there's 8 or 10 dealerships here in Newf.
