Nice pictures, I really wanted to go and watch, when I saw that J.J. and the W C Hemi team was there I was upset I hadn`t gone. But it was my 20th Wedding anniversary and I promised the wife no racing. She puts up with a lot with me racing every Sat. night so its the least I could do. Would have liked to meet C.W. also.

I'd like to know how the SS/AH cars get the front end so low.

Some of the cars have small "humps" or "tubs" so that the top of the tires won't hit the upper fenderwell area.NHRA says in the rule book this is illegal and had 2 photos showing a legal stock fenderwell and a illegal one. It's in the Lucas oil section at NHRA's website, and the photos are there as well.

Boy am I glad this fender well issue came up! I am building a wedge powered 68 Barracuda to run in the NSS classes. I don't have the cash or technical ability to run in the SS/AH classes. I did however, want to use some of the things I saw on these cars for my build. One of the things I did was to pick up a copy of the Hemi Super Stock Buildup Book ( http://www.hemi.com/index_book.html ) Lots of cool pictures, and good ideas in that one. It shows pictures of this same fender well modification. I thought it was a great idea and was going to modify my inner fenders the same way. You guys just saved me a lot of time! I hate trying to hit a moving target with some of the rules now days. I would have thought a fender well mod would be acceptable. The shock tower / suspension would have had me worried, but the fender well! Who would have thought! Here is the link to the NHRA Pics for those that are interested. http://www.nhra.com/content/sportsman_news.asp?articleid=25247&zoneid=85-Dave
PLEASE Pray for our brothers and sisters in harms way. If you are the owner of a GTS us at the GTS Registry www.gtsregistry.com
