Hit the end of the puller with a hammer while it's cranked down tight.

Just heat it.... You will wind up doing way more damage to it by bearing down on the jackscrew and hammering. I don't even try to do these without the torches at the ready. Everything yields to the fire MB

If it wasn't apart I would recommend (slowly)driving it around a few corners with the nut loose. Usually works.
Leave the gun.......take the Cannoli's....Mike

Way ahead of you guys on that one, no worky The car wasn't drivable when I started and won't be until a few weeks after I'm done, I may leave it on and try later as suggested.

Heat - after you have exhausted all else. Too much on the jack screw and you will have axle issues.

The old junk actually looked pretty good once I got in there. Once I do these over I doubt I'll live long enough to have another go at it, I think I'll just leave it stock.
Use a swedge cutter on your studs since you got it off then the drums will come of without removing the hub. Some brake shops will/can doit for you.
