If it has the giant high mount water pump with housing ports in the heads? then they are indust/mh specific closed chambered heads... It's crank could be forged or cast, most likely forged? I was told these motors all had 8bolt cranks.. but this '73 413 had a 6bolt forged crank...

Looks pretty standard to me.. the balancer should be the clue as to the crank.. it will say for cast crank only right on if that's what's in there..

Wire up a coil/ecu/dist/ballast from the archives diagrams. Battery negative cable to block, positive cable to starter. add a mechanical oil pressure/water temp gauges to monitor things.

you will need the correct flywheel and a bell housing to attach a starter to spin it. with big block bellhousings as expensive as they are i bought a core 727 and emptied it out and used the front case as a bellhousing. you could use a rear motor plate (like some drag cars use) but positioning the starter is a pita, amhik, lol. dave
There are ways around these issues, probably not the safest but I made a starter mount plate out of a piece of scrap steel. I've even run them with a junk converter when no flywheel was available...
