I just wanted to post a few pics of my resto '71 340 carb. After 18+ hrs of detail work, I remember why I do not like having to do this much work on a carb!

But I am pleased with the results, so here are pics, David.

ThermoQuads:stock, street/strip and race; 800/850 cfm's, 860/910 cfm's and 1,000 to 1,060 cfm's. New parts for all OEM 1971-1984, Competition Series and SuperQuad carbs and custom fabricating. Carbs bought and sold. Consulting on pre-purchases so you get the right carb the first time.

A pic from the front. Note this is the first time I have ever seen a '71 340 T.Q. with 'copper' 2ndary vent stacks instead of the usual brass vent stacks:

And a last pic of the driver side. The bowl is in great shape, still having about 90% of its shine left which needed very little attention. Also the choke pull-off is close to the original plated colors:

Not going to Carlisle but sure would like to. I would rather go to Carlisle than the nats just to look at parts.

I have a 'before' pic of the carb:

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! A clear lexan '71 340 air cleaner sure would be cool on top of a nicely detailed carb!

Hi David,

Not trying to intrude on your thread, just curious, is that gold plating or is that a paint treatment? Carb looks nice!

Looks fantastic David.

Do you think those copper vents are '71 only, or even more limited than that? Early production '71?

Thanks DynoDave!
I have only seen the brass rear vent stacks on the '71 340 carbs but only once on the above carb with copper stacks. All others(oem)were 'rolled-split seam' steel tubes.

Scott, most of the carb parts are plated except for the vapor return fitting and the vacuum fittings and pcv fitting. I could not get the plating to look right with or without the flash on the Nikon
so the green and reds would look right with the gold in the pics. You can see a little bit if you look closely at the pics.
