I get a bit of a temperature on the carb. The other day I got Vapor lock as a result and I couldn't even touch the carburetor.
Should I run an exterior MDF board that I can custom make off my manifold or get a phenolic style? I have a 440, its a dual plane Performer RPM and a 750 Eddy carb. If phenolic, should I order the 4 hole or the single large?
What height should I be looking at? 1/2" or 1"?
Your thoughts please

People have reported here dramatic drops in carb temp when using wood. Heat riser operational?. I wouldn't think 1/2" or 1" height increase would affect your throttle/kickdown linkage alignment drastically but I would check that.

I have a 1/2" wooden birch spacer between a Weaind Stealth dual plane and my 750DP. It helped probably a good deal, but I still get hot starts and the carb is still very hot ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif) I need to get a temp gun and check to see exactly how hot it gets on warmer days I guess.... Some folks here are using a phenolic with the four holes and they claim to like them also.

Thanks for the help....Im just gonna order a 1/2" spacer, space is pretty tight under the hood of the Charger. I'll go 4 hole because I need more torque anyways......Maybe I should order two since eventually I'll be swapping over to a dual quad setup....
My old man thinks the thermostat took a dump thats why the engine was burnin up (210*)then vapor lock occurred. I have a $20 Mr. Gasket thermostat in there that doesnt even have 9000 miles on it. When we were restoring her I insisted on a front pusher fan for those not so fun red lights and lack of airflow.....he insisted a 4 core radiator was plenty and we threw on a trans cooler. Now I find myself looking for a 10"x24"x2" low profile pusher fan to go right above the trans cooler. I'd move the trans cooler but I plumbed 3/8" hard line and I REALLY dont plan on moving it....
