Try to paint this picture as best I can.Been running an old Mcandless 360 w/a 727 behind it for years and all has been fine, until now.I just swapped in a t-5 manual trans and used a zero bal. flywheel and when I started it the engine had a terrible imbalance vibration.I then realized I had been running a b&m flex plate w/ the cut out which im assuming is for an externally bal. setup.I then took the flywheel to my local engine guy and had him balance the flywheel to a 360 spec.Vibration was much less severe ,but still there.I dont know what to do now.Should I just get a 360 flywheel and try it?Maybe he didnt bal. it correctly.Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

thanx
justin

Just a guess but sounds like the proper flywheel is in order

When my flywheel was balanced the pp also had to be boltd up at the same time.

Hope you get it figured out.

There you go Justin, I bet thats it.. when we spoke last, I forgot the Pressure Plate needs to be balanced to the flywheel, so thats the area, I recommend looking into...

I purchased this used flywheel described as a 360 externally balanced piece, but when I bolted it up to my 360 it vibrated like crazy. It felt the same as the zero balanced flywheel I had mistakenly installed previously. From what I understand the 360 wheels usually have three very large balance holes on the back side about half way out from the center.Any pics or info is appreciated.

Justin,

I know very little about this balancing thing, internal.. external... I'm always asking for help..

But I do have an external balanced flywheel sitting around doing nothing, so if you need to use it or try it, just let me know..

Proper balancing,

Can you be more specific? Obviously, if we all pulled our motors, tore it down and have everything balanced to fit, thats the proper way.. But what do you do once the motor is together and already in the car?

Thanks
