They pretty much lost me as a fan when they split it into 2 series. Now that they are supposedly back as one, I still don't care about it. I think the real reason they had fans at the track was they used to run the Trans Am series in conjunction with it. The TV viewing public isn't that interested in a spec class race with oversized go-carts. No more innovations, no more interest.

Honestly I think Versus is doing a great job with coverage, the coverage for Indy was the best I ever seen. They showed things every day that you only knew about if you attended the whole month which I have many times. I even wrote the several letters asking if they could cover Super Stock racing like they do for ADRL.

It's pretty cool stuff to watch in person, and if you ever get to take a stroll in the pits you'll see technology there the NHRA guys would surely envy. I'd love to see the Trans Am cars back with the Indy cars, and with the downturn in the economy there were a LOT less American Le Mans cars this than previous years. Heck, put the ALMS cars on the track WITH the Trans Am cars!
