I have a 71 charger, 440, 727 tranny. Tranmission shifts fine in drive, all the shift points just fine. If I put in low and try to shift manually, it will not shift from first to second during acceleration or if i let off the gas. Any ideas? Thanks dave

Have high does it rev without shifting? If you have your foot to the floor it won't shift until you hit 5000 or more because you're into the kickdown.

If it won't shift at WOT unless you lift the throttle the throttle pressure linkage needs to be backed off.

First thought {and the easiest solution}... ...Did you try to readjust your shifter linkage ???

Thanks guys for all the ideas. I adjusted the cable linkage according to the instuctions I still had from 5 years ago when I installed the shifter. Just freed up the cable connecting to the shift lever on side of tranny and can now shift through the mannually with no problems. Thanks screamindriver!

Great news... ...Have'nt been on here for a few days or I'd have answered you...I've had a few B&M cable shifters over the years and burned up more than one... ...The biggest thing about the cable is making sure you have the correct shifter lever because it's a different length depending on the application...Glad to hear everything worked out...
