yeah guess they figured his rod from master cylinder to the pedal came off so he had no brakes. was told that he went through the lights in the 10's. guess he slammed it into park but tranny broke or drive shaft broke so car was still moving. That is about all I know.

More cool pictures. Thanks for sharing.
...by the way I heard a car went off the big end down at TVD last weekend. Not sure if you've ever looked where you go when you don't stop at that track, but it aint pretty!! Didn't hear any details...just that it happened.

My soures tell me it was one of the Fiche (fike) kids ..Not sure how they spell that name
It was a 13-2nd something and throttle stuck
and went off , down ..
Geez, turn off the key ?
A 13 3nd car should never see the end of that track , there is plenty of shut down area
plus that hill takes a bunch of speed off
My old heavy beast went 10.95 @ 122 and with lousy drum brakes, I could make 1st turn off without much effort
Jr dragster drivers ..Yeessshhh

I don't know if you were there when the concession stand burnt down ..?
Well, some kids got in concession "tent" grabbed a box of Butterfingers..
Next day, he went on and on and on about his butterfingers
"WE ARE NOT RACING UNTIL, WE GET PAID FOR THOSE CANDY BARS.. !!"
After like 2 hours of this..I went and gave Fuji his 10 bucks for the dumb candy bars
Oh, it was something

I know this is an old post, but I just stumbled across it tonight looking up some info on a guy I used to work for and the owner of the Kansas Hemi car among other Hemi's. Wolfe Racing, John Wolfe and son Dave Wolfe. Talk about a guy who knows his stuff, John's a Mopar Maniac to this day at 70 something years old. He lives in Ault, Co and runs a horse ranch and small Custom Mopar component shop call Mopar Madness. Two years ago John and I finished his 67 Dart GT colored Plum Crazy Purple, that had been sitting in the works for many years, under the hood you'll find 550 horse stroked 360!!(Johns driver!) Talk about a hair raising car! The father and son combo just couldnt get along and thats the reason they threw in the towel for racing. Dave now resides in Alaska. John is a hard fella to get along with tho. Ive got his contact info if anyone wants to get ahold of him.

My dad took my brother and I up there when I was seven or eight. I remembers a black VW bug with flames on it and Don Prudomes Hemi Colt that went every way but straight and thats about it until '91 ish.
Jim and Danny Dalrymple ran Chevys back in the day all the time up there. They have alot of photos also. I will have to look through them and copy them for you guys. Danny is building a '63 Dodge Maxi clone right now.
So the bartender says to the horse " Gee, Why the long face?"
