not really. The coroners where the two gasket set meets normally leaves a gap when you try it with the one piece.

I suppose you could goop it to seal, but I had to put the la gasket back. I did think about cutting the sides off the magnum gasket since they were steel reinforced, but never did it.

I tried it by reforming the corners of the LA pan to look like the Magnum pan, and it seems to have worked for a while, and then started a slow leak from the back. Most people say use an LA gasket with an LA pan and a Magnum gasket with a Magnum pan. This seems like good advice to me

The problem is only at the front of the pan where it meets the block.

I tried to use RTV and let it dry. After a month, a hairline crack formed on each side. I thought about taking it apart and using a LA gasket. I gave the corners another heavy bead of RTV and am allowing it to cure.

I will likely leave the motor in the car until winter, and will keep an eye on the results.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen! Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

is there a magnum center sump oil pan? I was under the impression that there is only the LA pans with center sump.

It's real easy to do and I even reuse them. You'll get alot of differing veiws, but it's not that hard to make work. RTV IS NOT THE ANSWER.
