I picked up this brass belt buckle the other day. I believe it’s from the late 1970’s early 1980’s. I know it is not from 1970-1972.

Searching old eBay listings over the years, the club seems to have been functioning for at least 5 years. They sold pins, calendars, shirts, and this belt buckle. They sold the belt buckle for $ 8.50. I paid considerably more than that for mine. The club seemed to have had a newsletter “Rapid Transit Authority- Newsletter of the Rapid Transit System “. They quite liberally used RTS and Mopar trade names in their newsletter. Does anyone know what happened with them? Were they under capitalized? Did they run afoul of the trademark police? They had a nice color covered newsletter, but it looked pricey to join. They participated in national Mopar events like at Chelsea so they weren’t trying to hide from Ma Mopar.

The belt buckle is a nice casting.

I’m curious as to what others know about them? Thanks!!!

I know there was a club in Orange County CA that was called RTS in late 80's to very early 90's. I think different than this club in Midwest.

I thought that club in MI? sponsored or put together the first Mopar Nationals. Then Jim B took it over. Maybe he was part of that club?

Someone from that area I'm sure has more info.

... I have an old NHOA National Hemi Owners Association buckle like that.

Here is a little better picture after the sun came up, with some friends.

Autoxcuda , I think you are correct. It looks as if HQ was in Dearborn MI. Masthead shows Gary Rollins as Chairman. Others are listed as State Chapter heads, still others as helping organize a convention.
