Wonder how bad it is in person. Volo does not have a 100% stellar record. Like Vanguard and most of the other places, they make their living off people that fall for the glitzy pics and marketing. Its like Mecum/Barrett-Jackson, except you have to drink at home.

Never, ever argue with an IDIOT. They will drag you to their level and then beat you with their years of experience

That's striking, alright - not a 100% accurate restoration, but seems very nicely done.
It really "pops" in that color scheme.

Agreed, Overall a few minor things not right .
But nothing I couldn't fix in a weekend

If I were in the market. I would be going to look and make an offer on this one ( I am not btw )

The color combination is WAY up there for myself

That’s way cool, no idea what is and isn’t original on that model. But cool.

Volo, not so much. I’m consistently amazed that they sell any cars. Makes me think I should be a flipper since they do what they do. I did like the green 70 charger rt 4 speed they had a few months back. Gator grain! I think it was priced at like 70k and that shocked me. Saw it too late. I could see me calling it “Gator” and driving the tar out of it, green and all. No telling why it was cheaper than normal for volo.

I want my fair share

I restored this car some time agao. Was a local car for years. All numbers match, build sheet and fender tag. Auto with factory A/C. Car had very little sheet metal repairs. Restored back to factory colors and could barly get $27,000 for it when I sold it. It blows my mind as everything was so nice when I was done. I think the color kinda held it back on value. Wish I had kept it.

I remember that car . Sold at auction I believe?

Dealer in upper midwest bought it
I was in talks with said dealer and he sold it before we could come to an agreement on money

exterior color wouldn't have been my first choice. But I could have lived with it. It grows on you

I had a 66 Satellite same color a few years back. sold it and its now in New Zealand

I think it’s strange how people will balk at paying a private seller that you’d likely get better build info from, yet will pony up the big bucks at a dealer. People list these things on big network places like Facebook and eBay. Dealers do tend to put them on lots of places. I don’t know if it’s a simple thing like the dealers taking the financing app and shotgunning it out, or if people are buying without looking and think they have a better chance of getting at least some semblance of a car and/or title. I would gladly work with a dealer, but not at some huge market above market.

I don't think there's a blanket answer to that - sometimes it's financing, or location, or maybe convenience.
I can't recall a dealer/salesman who knew much, if anything, about a car - they may as well be selling shoes.
Personally, I want to talk with the owner/seller - build details, care/maintenance, history and all that - and also their honesty.
Sometimes it takes a while to uncover a car's "fatal flaw" to avoid a big problem later, of course - whether private or dealer sale - so to me the "interview" is important.

Agreed
When I was looking there were a few cars I had interest in .

Dialogue is important from either one how / if I proceed towards purchase

I had made an offer on a 67 GTX at a dealer in Texas , right before I bought my current car. It was PP1 bright red with white interior and working AC .

We were 3k apart and he said he had to reach out to the cars owner ( it was a consignment car )

He took too long to get back to me, In the meantime,,,, the CFO ( aka wife ) gave me permission to up the budget and the rest is history

I ended up with my hemi Satelllite ( at considerably more money than the GTX I was after I might add ) I have history with my car, actually helped build it, But never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would own the car .

I just don't understand why so many " Mopar guys" .. don't like factory yellow or green Chrysler/Plymouth/ Dodge vehicles?? shruggy
Mopar had some great color choices for green and yellow and for that matter, bronze or brown, back then IMO.
Yeah I know, " those colors are too girly or too ugly"... especially about yellow cars. But not everyone likes Go Mango, or In Violet.

Plymouth Makes It!

I remember when you were selling that car. I lived in FL then.
Its a nice car and was surprised it didn't sell for more.

I too would much prefer to buy from a private individual too.

In discussions with people trying to figure it out, I’ve found the most common reason is people have a mundane daily driver. A toy is suppose to be “fun,” including the color. Some, but very few, have said something that I translate to “I want extra attention when I drive my toy.”

It’s just whatever our dna makeup causes. I’m the only guy that will tell you white(those suffer in value or go unsold) is his favorite, I was never happier than when I had my 69 rr(guy gave up selling and I saved the number until I had the funds, he was happy as a clam I called) in that. It was even brighter than the factory white. I drive a white vehicle everyday and would prefer that on the toy.
