First time I had seen that even though it was obviously made years ago. Ray has been gone nearly a dozen years now.

This was great - thanks for posting this & finding it! I've always loved the Doors music, & always will.

My Aunt Helen & her two boys moved to the LA area back in 1965 - things were pretty cool out there back then. She told me the story about her & her girlfriend Sue when they went to the Whiskey-A-Go-Go one evening & saw The Doors - they were the house band. She was not a fan of them. How epic is that?

A friend of mine went to UCLA in the 60's and while he never said he was friends specifically with Jim Morisson, they had some classes together and my friend knew Jim was in a band. They ran in the same circles and had many of the same friends; but Jim was a hardcore drinker and my friend wasn't into that kind of thing. My friend's parents both worked for Standard Oil at the time and he was an only child. So, whatever he wished was made reality. He did tell the story of seeing Mark Lindsay's 275GTB Ferrari cruising around and, in a bout of oneupsmanship (with somebody he didn't know) asked Mommy and Daddy for a Ferrari of his own. That wish was granted in the form of a yellow, late-1969 Dino 246 GTS. A car he still had (and yours truly got to sit in) many years later in the mid 2000's. While I never got to drive the car, I did get to sit in it and take it all in as I was helping him take pictures so the car could be sold. He even still had his mother's '69 Imperial Crown Coupe that had every single option you could order!
Sadly, my friend passed away in 2013. He had no brothers or sisters and never married. I'm not sure if he even had a will. Last I'd heard from him was a telephone call from him saying he's going into hospital for some checkups and he'll be out in a few days. Never heard from him again. I never saw anything in the papers with an obit or an estate sale, though, a "friend" learned the Imperial was up for sale but never told me. Some friend, right? Oh well. Funny thing is, even if only half of his tall tales were true, he lived a very interesting life. I later learned he was a renowned artist and had painted several well-loved works of art - something he NEVER spoke of.
