Hi all, my center console top plates have the woodgrain middle parts which are in great shape but the 'black' surrounding trim part is all scratched , I would like to touch it up but what is the correct black paint to use? It looks like a semi gloss of some sort, what do you guys use and is it available in rattle can forum ?

Thanks, later, BUZZ

I’ve found this paint to be an excellent match. I use SEM black self-etching primer as well. Both are a tad pricey but the shoot very well and hold up well.

^^^ That is a good product.
The original finish was a satin/semi-gloss, seemed to be lacquer, and it would scratch more easily than one would hope.
It'll be best to remove the old paint and really clean the plate before refinishing, and you'll likely need to do all 3 for an exact match.

I did what the op said.... stripped all 3 pieces, etch primed then some black primer and finished with the sem ultra trim black satin. It came out real nice. BTW, stripping the old was real easy, one coat of paint stripper and the old paint rubbed right off. The factory did a piss poor prep/paint job on these parts.
