Rescued from a junkyard, had already been robbed of the 331 Hemi and transmission. There were only 1100 of these made, so they're pretty rare. Rather than piecing it out, I'm wanting to see it back on the road, but it's beyond my finances to restore to original. So I'm going with a more modern drivetrain. Call it rat rod, patina, or whatever you like, but here's what's going on:

Motor and transmission is a 318 with a 727 trans from a 69 Fury. Motor is rebuilt, new rings, bearings, valve job, etc.; trans works but may need some attention.
New motor mounts and transmission cross member fabricated.
Electronic ignition.
New headers & glasspack 2 1/4” exhaust.
Shortened driveshaft, new ujoints.
Rear end is a Ford 9 inch traction-lock with 3.50 gears, narrowed with new axles and bearings (Quick Performance).
Brakes are new all the way around, but the original power assist had been robbed, so they're manual now, pretty hard pedal.
Tires are P215/75R15 fairly new.
All wiring replaced.
Mustang steering column and floor shifter.
Modified Vega steering box.
New and rebuilt dash gages.
New gas tank (not original).
New battery.
The interior had been all dismantled when I got it, but have sorted out most of it, and have it in place. The wood is kind of rough, and could be replaced but the stainless strips are all there. With the rear seats folded down, and tailgate down, there's about 9 feet of flat floor.

Body: Originally green, has been repainted cream, then brown (I think). I repaired and painted the left front fender and the left rear around the tail light. Otherwise, did a quick buff on the rest of the brown. Nothing done yet on the roof. As far as rust, I have already done the front floor. There are a few small rust spots on the rockers, and the spare tire well is pretty thin. Glass is all there, but front right door and windshield has a crack.

It runs and drives fairly well, have only had it around the block a few times. Still needs some work done to get the bugs out, but the major items are done, many hours worth. You'll be the only one in the neighborhood.
