My buddy is thinking that he don’t have the time to enjoy this 1969 lift-a-lid dodge and wanted to get it a new home. Small block, auto, buckets and a few other goodies that makes it nice. Garaged for a lots of years and some rust peppering the lower quarters. What you guys think he’s gonna be worth?

Looks like it needs complete quarters based on the wheel lip? Would have to come apart to make it right (why does everyone paint the engine bay black???). Tops looks really worn as well. I'm not going to guess. Much depends on floor pans, trunk floor, etc.

$8-12K in present condition if just buying for a driver with no future resto. Like said above, full quarters and paint to get it presentable and that assumes the underneath is OK as well as the trunk which usually rusts bad on A-Body convertibles. twocents

I doubt the car has any real rust, probably bubbling in the lowers and been indoors for 20-30 years. I think he’s only driven it a couple times in the last 20 years. Don’t think it would sell that low. Last one I sold for him was a 1967’ drop top dart 273 bench in little better condition about 3 years ago and got $20k for it, and it was yellow with a bench.

Ok. But you asked for opinions, sounds like you really did not want any opinions.

Quarter panel replacement, trim needs restored, top in bad shape, not a desirable drivetrain combo, and unknown other rust areas gives me my estimate of what it is worth. I have had over 20 67-69 Dart and Barracuda convertibles and know where they rust, some of it is not easily seen. If he asks $20K for it then he will have it for a while, no self respecting Mopar guy would leave it alone in present condition, especially the engine compartment. Brand X types may be OK with it, but they will lose money in the end... twocents

Well the top is very worn and looks to have some holes in it. Water get past the top and upper quarter panel and if the drain is clogged it can rust.

Not being driven doesn't help. Does it run and drive safely currently?

Looks like he had to replace the radiator and water pump the last time. Is the factory radiator and fan shroud still with it?

Maybe the 67 was in be better condition than you thought? Doesn't sound like you've looked at this 69 up close?

Had more than a few. Have zero now. You know what opinions are like, right? You have exactly ZERO idea what I have owned. Give it a rest

What are you talking about? I was referring to Rhino offering his opinion. Of all the guys to choose to argue with about anything Dart related, he'd be last on the list. shruggy

I have not seen the car up close in awhile. Was a nice driver. Around here, the last few hardtops sold for good money in the $15k range. I sold a 1968 Dart shell or $8k last year. Figuring a vert version should bring much more. Convertibles will be popular this year.

Not if it's full of rust! Does it run at all, and at least yard drive?
Maybe get us more info about the real condition of the drivetrain/body/undercarriage/trunk etc ..

If a California car its whole life & off the road for 20/30 years how much rust could it have, guys are making big assumptions just from some crappy pictures.

If the car lived near the coastline anywhere in California, for any amount of time, then yeah, rust from
the salty ocean air, is a concern. Just from the crappy pictures, I see rust, so
where you see rust, that most likely means MORE rust, you can't see...surrounding the existing rust.

^^^ Yup. All we can do is extrapolate from the rusty wheel arches.
Buddy of mine on the NorCal coast loses a daily driver '60s car about every 5-6 years.
Roof, pillars, window openings, then lower down - it's really damp, foggy & salty there.

Thanks for the input everyone. I talked with my friend and he’s going to address some issues with the car when time permits. 👍🏼
