A dependable low pressure street pump. I have a Holley red pump on it now and it has quit working twice. Once I could here the pump running but it wasn't pushing any fuel, I did nothing to it, but it worked fine the next day. It sounded like either the internal bypass was stuck open or something. I took it apart but found nothing.

Today it died on the highway, I pulled over and couldn't hear the pump running, it's pretty loud, I tapped on it with a pair of pliers and it started running again but doesn't sound healthy. Anyway, I don't trust it anymore so anybody got a recommendation for a dependable mild street pump? Thanks.

I prefer a good old mechanical pump.

I would too, but I have the magnum timing cover and accessory drive on it. That isn't going to change.

I've used the old Carter, and the old Holley 110, and the later Holley "black" (130 gph?) and never had an issue.
A few years ago I bought a cheap Summit inline pump - actually bought 2, because the 1st one leaked - but they're a cheaply-made plastic deal.
I later removed it - it was only for pre-filling the carb bowls, and I quit worrying about that.

If you want to plumb a like-sized return line from a bypass regulator mounted up front, you can drop a factory-reliable electric pump in your stock tank. I modified my own replacement fuel sending unit to allow me to do just that. Drops right in, is quiet and reliable.

I have been thinking about doing that, where did you get the wiring connector?

I've been running a Holley Sniper series (chinese copy) for about 3years and 1600 miles with no issues. I just have it deadhead to a Quickfuel regulator. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sne-80000102

I've been looking at those Carter pumps, but can't find a 5/16 hose barb that fits those NPS threads. Trying to keep it simple in case I have to change it on the side of the road.

That isn't what the specs say, and the pictured 3/8 hose barb fittings appear to be NPS. What am I missing?

Did you look at the picture on the summit site? looks like the fittings are included. I would bet the NPS is a typo.

Fittings for a 3/8 hose. Truck has 5/16. Every Carter pump of that style is listed as having NPS threads, one even mentioned it in the Q&A.

I have found it for $59 with free shipping. RA wants $12-$13 for shipping, USPS, we haven't gotten mail in almost 3 weeks now so I'm not thrilled with that. FedEx, UPS and the garbage truck has been here though.

I can't find anything on a Weldon 275 pump. Their lowest pressure carb pump says it isn't for continuous duty street use.

I sourced the one shown from Radium Engineering, but there are other sources with lower prices these days. Just make sure to use the fully-submersible fuel line.

Thanks, the more I think about it though an in tank pump might not be a good idea since this is an in cab fuel tank. Pressurized fuel inside the cab probably isn't a good idea.
