1970 Challenger convertible, 318 auto, console/buckets, non A/C car, green with green interior, black top, original California blue license plate car, has rebuilt 318 engine and transmission in it, engine is fresh build with 2 miles on it, 904 transmission is from another Challenger convertible that got turned into a Hemi clone, and was rebuilt just before the car got converted. Hi all, Up for sale is my son's 1970 Barracuda. This car is currently on the rotisserie, but that is where the work has ended. Let me start by saying this car still needs some finishing up on the welding and has a clean New York state transferrable registration (NYS did not issue titles until 1974), but it is not in his name yet - he is working on getting it in his name now. This car was a Grand Coup.

About the car: This car had a rust free original front clip (1970) - from fire wall/cowl to radiator support - welded in to it. The car was placed on a jig and secured properly before any of the rusted metal was cut out. The rear frame rails were also changed and they are also original rust free frame rails, but not from the same car as the front clip came from. The inner roof structure is original to this car. The front fenders are original 1970 pieces and are 100% rust free. The passenger fender never had a hole put in it from the factory for an antenna. I would ay this is an original AAR Cuda fender, but there are three factory holes drilled on the side where a "Barracuda" emblem was. At any rate, is the same fender as used on the AAR.

The car has its original 8 3/4 suregrip 3.23 ratio with brand new reproduction AAR 'Cuda leaf springs from Springs & Things, as well as "U" Bolts and hardware. In the front, the upper control arms are new with new ball joints. The inner and outer tie rods are also brand new on both sides. I have to check, but I believe the lower ball joints are brand new as well.

This was a factory disc brake car and retains the original spindles with the disc brake caliper brackets. The master cylinder and brake booster were not repairable and discarded. This car comes with a flat hood converted to a Shaker hood using one of the reproduction kits. The welding does need to be finished up on it. The flat hood that was used was a rust free original.

The roof skin, quarter panels, door skins, front header panel are all new reproduction pieces. I have the original dash frame with the original vin tag still factory riveted to it. (Have fender tag too) It was a rallye dash car so the original cluster harness is included as well. There is also a brand new 1970 reproduction grille included as well and a nice pair of 1970 tail lights too. The tires on the car are brand new BF Goodrich - 15 by 7 in the front and 15 by 8 in the rear. The rallye rims are not included with the car. Steel wheels with the new tires (I can switch them over and balance them) will be included. The steel rims are brand new reproduction - 15 by 7 front and 15 by 8 in the rear. One of the rear 15 by 7 rims is used and has had a spot welded where it had a big hole for an inner tube valve stem. it does not leak air but needs to be ground and finished. All glass is included. I have an original 426 Hemi block that needs welding that is included with the car - it is fixable, but it was decked about .190".

I'm sure I am missing a lot, but you get the idea by now. There are a lot more parts that come with the car. I just need to dig everything out - all chrome is there as well as a NON A/C heater box that needs a rebuild and some fixing. I have a ton of extra parts for sale at an extra cost and will only be available to the buyer of this car - inquire because it is too much to list.

We are asking $15,000.00 as it sits. I will be finishing up the welding in the next few months and getting the registration in my son's name. Once both of those are complete, the car will go on Ebay. I figured I would offer it here first in case somebody wants to do all the finishing welding themselves. The quarter panels are not welded on yet. They are attached by self tappers because they had to go on and off a ton of times to get the alignment correct. If you are interested, and not a welder, I can finish all the welding up for you included in the price - that is not a problem.

I only have these four photos now but will get more hopefully this week end. (The white fiberglas AAR Cuda hood was sold) (The trim ring on the Shaker hood was sold - hardtop on the right)

If you have any interest, the quickest way to contact me is by a PM here on Moparts - I view it every day. Thanks for the ad Moparts! Rob
