I have a small block Dart with a motor plate and was wondering the effects of raising the engine 1-2 inches. It is currently at 13 inches. I need some weight transfer, and can't afford the lightweight brakes or wheels.

Raising the car both back and front helped mine.

I moved the shock mount up in the back 1.5" (ladder/coil) and about
the same up front with the torsion bars.

I was actually able to spin 14" x 32" slicks with a stock stroke
340, before. My engine simply didn't have enough power to plant
the tires and needed to get the car up to drive under it.

Softening the shock settings (ft. and rear) would be first option
but, you've probably tried that.

Getting ready to try that, Raising the body 1 hole in the rear seemed to help consistancy in the heat, slowed the 60' slightly, and in the fall , let it back down and the 60' would come right back. The Darts 111 in wheelbase doesn't help, would be much easier with 108 like the rest of the A bodies.

Do it, but remember to re-set your pinion angle.
