There are so many fakes/rebodies out there, I wonder if it's real. I like those cars, but I don't know how much his reserve is. My historian on those died and now I don't have him to call. frown I would never think about buying something like that unless I knew it was real. Being unrestored is a big plus. If it's been restored I would assume it's a rebody and wouldn't have to think about it.

Yeah, I get it - this car is pretty well known & familiar, so I think it's legit - but checking around for info specific to the car would be smart.

The approximate market seems to be around $150,000 for the less-famous cars (vs Landy & Sox & Martin cars, for example).
I think one of the ex-DeFrank & Cohen BO29 cars sold for around that amount last year - a cleaner car, not current spec.

I have researched "original" cars before and found a picture of the subject car crunched up in a ball that would nearly fit in your mailbox, but then it was "restored". I'm definitely not saying that about this car. I'm just describing my mindset.

You would have to reach out to the experts on these cars, and get some history on it.

This is one of the better B029 cars one could buy. Solid history known to day one, and the same owner for almost 50 years. The complete history is given in the PDF attached on the auction listing under the photos. Can't believe there is any questions on the validity of this car. It's been on and off the market for about 6-7 years now.

Not to bust stones, but Reed's last name is Koeppe.

If the seller doesn't get his reserve off of Hemmings... maybe he still has time
