I want to purchase a book so I can learn more about the TQ, and be able to do my own work, etc. Any recommendations on the best repair book with good illustrations, diagrams, etc???

I believe my carb is a 71 model, however I'm not sure. How do I I.D. the carb I have? Thanks

The BEST reference is a Chrysler service manual.

Carb ID ? ... on the lower throttle-valve plate ... drivers rear ear .. there are #'s stamped there.

Give me that # ...I can get that application for you.

If you need the air-valve tool to properly adjust that critical aspect of that carb .. drop me a PM.

Do a google search for vaanth thermoquad guide a lot of good info in there, including breakdowns of that carb # = which year and application. After that answers some of your questions, a factory service manual should get you the rest of the way, so long as you get the manual for your year of carb.

Is this a good model? Which are the more desired models?

any model can be converted on to a "wished" model, but thsi specific one, is not a wished one in stock form.

for better advices about that, contact to demonsizzler

in stock form the best ones to choose are 4000 and 6000 series

There are LOTS better models to have. Like the carbs used on the earlier truck and motorhome motors.

Most of those are in the 6000 series.

Do a search here on Moparts. There is a factory manual link that you can print out.

There was a Carter carb reference book by Dave Emmanuel in the 90's that hide quite a good TQ section as well with lots of pix and tips. The Vaanth guide is also a great reference.
