I go to a few test and tune days at my local track , the last few have had close to 200 cars on a Sunday many of the cars are new or a few years old : Audis, Beemers, Mustangs , Toyotas etc. Some of the times there are turning in stock form is pretty impressive !

Newer cars will shame a lot of so called performance cars of yesteryear. Fun to drive as well. I don't want a payment so I guess I don't have to worry about it.

i didn't watch the video to know the basis for the $35K budget. you can easily build a 08/09 mustang with a Department Of Boost intake and a GT500 supercharger add some good rods upgrade the clutch upgrade the DS and run low 11's high10's on pump 93 octane gas. i built mine for a tick over $15K including buying the car in that price.. fastest it has gone is 9.98 @ 142mph with a skilled driver NOT ME using 110 no lead.. if i put a auto trans for, for about $7K , i might hit 9's with me driving. you can buy a coyote powered mustang,, 2011-14,. leave the motor stock. add a DOB intake and GT500 supercharger and run low 11's high 10's for under $35K...

I didn't watch that vid long enough to hear any 1/8 or 1/4 mile ET and MPH, If they won't run quicker than 14.0 they are slow Maybe if you haven't owned or driven a "fast" car you don't know what one is Maybe I'll listen longer tomorrow

The 4cyl Mustang runs bottom 13's. Thats what the LS1 F bodies were running 20 years ago

It is impressive when a 4cyl car runs 13s 12s or quicker. I fully admit it's faster than the stock muscle cars of yesteryear. But really, it's just amusing. These cars- the 6 and 4 cylinders may be the thing of dreams for some but the V8 is what a big majority of money spending/financing Americans want. On this site back, around 2001 a member said about the at the time new Turbo Neon SRT that it was the modern version of the 340 Ply Duster. Hardly. Flash fwd to 2024 the Neon SRT is completely forgotten about while the Duster/Dart is a highly valued- highly recognized and desirable car.
