Instead of adding a cooler fan . Decided to duct between the radiator and the cooler. Had some left over aluminum from a prevous trailer repair. Made a homemade brake using a press and some 2" steel blocks. Broke out the square cardboard, siccors, tin snips . And not to forget. The trusty $15 Harbor Frieght electric shear. Took awhile to make templates as the car is all together. Now it'll pull air without vehicle movement. Hopefully this helps when you have to make 3 runs in less than an hour. Doug

Crafty! But that's going to add 1/2 pound to the front of the car! LOL, Beautiful work! On a more serious note, is the new shroud contacting/rubbing on the radiator fins?

No it has 3/16" clearance everywhere. I'll monitor it. If it shows any signs of contact. Then the clearance can be increased. Didn't weight it but been using this same aluminum (.030") for fan mounting, fan shrouds, airpans, It's pretty stiff wihen it has a bend in it. Doug

very nice ! will you be possibly considering a fan for the cooler in the future ? Shouldn't need one. That's why I built the duct. It has a dual fan set up out a late model Charger. On 16 volts you could swear they could pull the car forward. Doug

interesting use of the late model charger fan setup. i am considering that setup [if and] when i build a more potent engine for my charger. that looks like a good fit and choice.

Good to hear. The recall seams to afflict only the late model versions from 2011 to 2016. As with most recalls, there was not a 100% chance of failure.
"According to available information, late model Dodge Chargers from the 2011-2016 model years were subject to a cooling fan recall issued by FCA US LLC (Chrysler), affecting vehicles manufactured between August 23, 2010, and January 7, 2016; you can check your specific vehicle by contacting Chrysler customer service with the recall number "S03". Key points about the recall:
Affected vehicles: 2011-2016 Dodge Chargers
Issue: Potential problem with the cooling fan motor Action required: Contact your local Dodge dealer to get the cooling fan inspected and repaired if necessary."

How so. the electrics will pull air when stopped. Your best "trick" here IMO, adding the cooler's lip spoiler. Probably a lot of turbulence in that entire area, but regardless you will be ahead of the game as a result of this project.

what temperature does atf start to break down, 260 or so ? what is the optimal operating temperature of atf ? I remember reading there is degradation observable for every 10F, now if there is a cliff, I don't know if or where.
