I have a 440 I bought from a friend a couple years ago and I’m guessing it’s a warranty block. It has no vin on the pad by the pan rail. It’s .040 over steel crank and doesn’t have a lot of miles since being rebuilt. It is dated 1-73. I was curious since there’s no vin does that increase the value and what is it worth? I sold the car I was gonna use it in so I’m thinking of letting it go. Thanks for any info

Complete 440 core engines are around here that appear on CL are $700 - $1000 if they have all the accessories. If the one you have does not need to be rebuilt, but is missing the heads and intake ect then maybe $500 or so. If I was the buyer I would want to have some verification that it's good inside like pulling the main caps off to look at it, and turn it over to look at the bores ect. The more you can do to prove it's all good the better $$$ you will be able to get out of it.

iagree and I don't think the blank VIN pad matters since it's a '73 block. twocents
Unless it has good pistons in it, I'd say the previous estimate is close.
