Just a heads up that SpeedMaster has a black Friday sale with free shipping. I ordered some assembled 440 heads and saved $600 bucks. I was going to order a set of bare heads, but I don't have anybody that can post and assemble a set. Probably order some more stuff later, just wanted to let you guys know before it's over.

yup, they do have some pretty goofy crap on their site. I'm only after mopar cylinder heads. A few guys I've talked to buy the bare heads and send those out for competition work and saved enough money to buy extra backup heads for race season. One guy says he's had a set or 4 seasons now. I would probably check out their line of connecting I/H beam rods since they use ARP bolts in those. Their intake manifolds are a joke. To me, they are a decent source or heads, but I thought I would mention here. I you wanted to build a set of bare heads, they do have their 426 572 Stage VI Top Fuel Billet Aluminum heads on sale til sunday for $900ea.

My main concern with these heads are valve seats and valve seat retention, especially with roller cam spring pressures. My advice is helicoil ever hole prior to use. You will be time and frustratuon ahead.

Good idea. Though I talked with a few guy who run them, they just say basic tear down of complete heads if you have concerns.

Speedmaster / Procomp was dropped by Summit, Jeg's, etc., when it was discovered they were selling of counterfeit parts. That's not a company with whom I'd do business...

Might want to check that, Jegs STILL sells speedmaster junk. The only place that I know of that dropped them was Summit.

At one point Jeg's had definitely disabled all their Speedmaster links shortly after Summit was very public about dumping Speedmaster. Guess the equity group that bought Jeg's simply let the storm die down and went back to business as usual... what a bunch of bottom feeders

agreed, alot of parts from their electronics line is pretty much copy cat items. Cylinder heads seem to be the only thing that isn't copies from anyone. Their intake manifolds are all trash, so there is no way those are copied from anyone.

They cloned the 1st gen Edelbrock Victor BB heads, plus their BB Mopar single plane intake is a crusty Edelbrock Victor copy, too. They create nothing; they copy everything... and much of it quite badly.

The only thing R&D means with that company is Rob & Duplicate.

And duplicate poorly, I might add. Anything these people make is counterfeit copies of someone else's work.
