This stood out to me from the video:

"You have to know the past, to understand the present" Carl Sagan

Not sure I buy into the very simplistic reason of why the diesel nozzle is dirtier than gasoline.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm with Helmuth Hübener, and no soup is being served today.

Pennsylvania crude was the best in its day, now it represents varnish and sludge.

the "dirty diesel nozzle" stood out to me as well.
at a couple of the local stations i frequent, at times i buy a few gallons of diesel, and those nozzles are always as clean as the gas nozzles.
i also worked at the local truck stop years and years [and a few more years] ago before starting my junkyard and machinist career, as a "pump jockey". [where i learned to drive big rigs. up] those nozzles were always clean.
was the diesel "cleaner" back then ? shruggy

I have learned more about lubricants from Lake in the past year than I have in my entire 40 years of wrenching. The man has a practical approach to teaching old timers like me about lubricants that I can understand and appreciate. He almost has me ready to start putting synthetic oil in my old school muscle car.

Cool Video. I am from Oil City ( or near enough anyway) and I used to run the steam engine in the replica of Drake's well when I worked there.
