I'm referring to Helene also. All the Helene damage was way west of Rockingham, NC.

Dave, I just checked the NOAA website, and it says sunny with a high of 69 on Saturday at Rockingham. If you're racing, you should pull some good timeslips out of that nice weather! I used to bring my 71 Challenger convertible to race at the show. It was ALWAYS 3 tenths faster at Rockingham than Bristol or Atlanta. All of the problems associated with Helene were in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina, which are 4 hours to the west of the track. I live in Candler, NC, very close to where the eye of the storm went thru. Our city water still isn't safe to drink because our reservoir got severely damaged. No damage at my house though, other than a tree fell and busted the split rail fence by the far end of my driveway. We were very fortunate compared to others in our area.

Sorry we missed each other, yeah it was crowded, by the time I got there I parked & unloaded just to the left of the main gate as u drove out. Only got 1 hit at the track, test & tune, cut an .003 lite then blew the tires off. i wasn't the only 1 though most cars were spinning like mad. They finally dragged the track but the tractor kept dragging thru the water box bringing water onto the track, then they never resprayed. Sunday I took 1/2 a turn looser on the front shocks, & 1/2 # of air from the tires not many cars had gone down the track so when i came up she went into a giant wheelstand but headed for the right wall so i got out of it. Next shot she again blew the tires off, so don't know if my tires have gone away or something else, but i know track was not optimal like a division meet. we'll figure it out. thx 4 looking would've been nice to meet. I looked for you, but didn't see you...hate we didn't get a chance to meet. Might want to check your tires...most of the guys I talked to said the track was pretty good on Saturday.
