I am pretty sure a dump valve could be effective on manipulating the converter and not be as detectable as a lock up converter. Honestly who cares ? Baddest super stock cars on the planet . I remember when it was a big
Deal that they broke into the 8 sec et zone

I brought it up because I was told about it by another SS/AH owner.
Maybe he is crazy, but he seemed convinced it was true. Talked him recently for probably an hour.
He told me….go listen to that car on the big end

I remember when they got into the 9s.

I'm old.

Haha
Me too. Saw Bill Miller do it out of the Norfolk/ Va beach area in the later 70’s. Getting into the 9’s. He might have been the first one, actually.
I remember buying an 8.75 pig from him for a Dart I had back then that I raced at Suffolk Dragway.
Drove it from the base to the track on Sunday mornings. Swapped tires, uncorked it, raced it, drove it back to the base. Those were the days

If you want to hide the fact that you have a lock-up converter, lock it up just before the 1-2 shift. I paid good money for that advice.

July 19th should be "Drive Like Rockford Day". R.I.P. Jimmie.

A lockup in a proflite is nothing new. Comp cars been doing it for years. Its a mixed bag for many in an NA application. We have the stuff for the Vette, and have had good luck with the dump valve. We make a bit more power than the AH guys as well.

My understanding is that Bucky's Cuda was torn down at Indy to include the transmission and converter and was found totally legal.

I understand that was Indy and this was Maple Grove but I would be surprised if Bucky was cheating.
