Looking for a way out of Middl...
Trying to check the rear wheel bearings for noise on my son's 2014 Charger. It has Autopark which seemed pretty cool at first.

Open the door it goes into park. Car rolls it goes into park. Car not running, it goes into park.
Basically if you aren't driving it goes into park. Kinda neat because in a moment of forgetfulness the car won't roll away on you.

BUT

You can't put the car in neutral and spin the rear wheels to see how the bearings sound unless you jack up both sides and let the differential freewheel.

Anybody know a way to disable it for a few minutes?

Tried turning traction control off. In accessory mode it goes into park. In run mode but not started, it goes into park. Even with engine running if you let off the brake it goes into park.

Not so neat now. LOL shruggy

I did find the Emergency Neutral Lever but I was thinking there would be an electronic override.

Put some weight on the drivers seat and keep the doors closed?

Go in console. Look towards rear. Remove cover plate. Unravel cord hoop. Firmly pull to disengage parking apparatus. Done.

That is what we did but I keep thinking there would be a way to temporarily disable it.

I guess not.

Buckle the driver’s seat belt and it should over-ride it

Not sure about the Mopar stuff but I can turn almost all of the safety/ADAS stuff off under settings on my Mustang GT. Might be worth a look??

This is temporary but might not accomplish what you want. Do you just want neutral or do you want to power the wheels?

Keep the brake switch activated , slight pressure on the pedal just enough to keep the lights on or [jump the switch] will keep the auto park off.
