That's an engine mounting plate. This thread is about torque plates used when boring and honing the block.

Has anyone made a torque plate out of an old cast iron cylinder head? Not enough material after boring?

It's been tried. I saw one almost 50 years ago. I doubt if it was any more effective than a stack of flat washers. Which might actually be better than nothing.

That's a nice price. But it looks like you'd have to get some long bolts/s studs for the valley studs because it looks like the hole is drilled all the way through. But the picture could be wrong too.
