i removed the original trunk mat from my charger. it is in two pieces, as it split at the point it goes up at the spare tire mounting area. it also needs a good scrubbing. however, the back side markings and part number[s] are clearly visible, and would clean up nicely. my question is, if i gave this to someone who needs a mat for a driver or survivor type car, would it be worth the effort to ship it ? new ones are around $100.00 if i looked right. i hate to toss "stuff" if someone can use it, but if this isn't worth the effort, mr. garbage man can have it.......... thanks in advance to all that can offer any guidance in this matter.

As far as shipping, check with https://www.pirateship.com/They ship via all the normal shipping companies, USPS, UPS, etc. but at MUCH cheaper pricing. USPS Priority Mail is usually half of what they charge at the Post Office. Crazy, but it works. The wife started using them a couple years ago and now I use them for what stuff I do ship.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

I mailed off a long skinny piece of polished stainless steel dash trim a few weeks ago using a pvc tube with wood caps in both ends. It was a rare part to risk shipping it in a slender cardboard box so I figured the pvc was the best option I had. USPS took it just fine after I inquired about it first. They said tube shapes are ok, but they count circles as squares so whatever the diameter is that is the height and width number they would apply to it. Anything extra long they ding you for oversize so be aware of that.
30 years ago I found a rare NOS 69 GTS rocker spear, the guy put it in a PVC tube and sealed the ends. When UPS delivered it the tube was broken in half and taped together with the trim bent at the halfway point still in the tube, still never figured out how they did that!

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

Hate when rare stuff gets wrecked in shipping. The pvc tube I used was pretty thick walled and rather heavy because of it. I'm sure it could have been broken as well if someone really wanted to. Seems like most of the time when I receive a box from someone that is really long, or has heavy parts inside it shows up with at least some damage to the box. I think of that when shipping stuff myself trying to prevent that from happening to the other guy.

Ive sold a few sets of the upper body line mldgs for a 1966 Satellite. Everyone went in a 4inch PCV tube, the thick-walled version.
Its not cheap. But every one of them made it to the buyer with no issues ( knocks on wood )
