74 duster. Do you have to remove the windshield to get the whole dash assembly out?

If you want to do it the right way then yes. There are 5 bolts from the top under the windshield seal. You can always grind them off from underneath, but you have to remove everything in the dash to get to them. Then you have to figure out how to re-attach the dash when putting it back in... wave

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

Correct and windshield is not that hard to get out and back in.

I learned this from DVW

if you grind the spring clips from underneath the dash you can get to them it just takes time and patience. then when you reinstall the dash, reverse the spring clips, so the screw comes in from under the dash, use a shorter screw than the factory and its ready to remove the next time much easier. If I remember correctly, he got just the length screw to have one thread sticking above the spring clip.

it can be done just takes time and effort.

lesson learned from reading Dougs threads. you can't just read you need to absorb the knowledge in front of you.

something like this i want to say they were 10-32's maybe
