I recently got all the music channels on my cable system. It was a reminder that there were so many good musicians in the past. Probably some now but they don't seem to have the same uniqueness, innovativeness, or talent. So much studio influence and image building instead of just being about the music. I get reminded of musicians I haven't heard in a long time.

Remember Vern Gosdin? Hal Ketchum? Ed Bruce? So much good writing and performing! I listen to the channel "Today's Country" and I swear I can't tell if it's a sorta rap, hip hop, song.

just loved that song by Bocephus when it first came out, and it still rings true [maybe even more so] today !
and the mexican dog song was great !
as my wife and i have have been caretakers of several of those little creatures over the years, some can be real ba$tards, but most are so loving it borders on being criminal.
it boils down to the people bringing them up correctly, and socializing them at a very early age, plus the right training regimen.
it reminds me of a dog my one cousin's girlfriend had at the time.
that doggy didn't like cousin "wonderful" [name is a story for another time], but it wasn't a chihuahua.
anyway, one time after an overnight stay, cousin "wonderful" rolled out of bed and stepped into his shoes, only to find the doggy had blessed him with "presents" in both shoes !
the relationship didn't last very long after that..........
