hi
maybe , it may have the governor blocked or removed
talk to the builder .
find out what v b it has in there now . That's what I was thinking. The guy that built the reverse pattern manual trans in our Dart had said we couldn't just swap the valve body on ours because of the governor.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

I should have phrased things differently . The transmission was built many years ago . It only has about 5 miles on it from a test drive . It is out of the car. I can not locate the last guy who built it . I have a builder who will fix any changes thr transmission needs to go back full automatic . He said for me to get another valve body to build , and that I probably need a governor . I was wondering if a full manual body could be converted back . He said no , and I thought no , but thought I would aak here because of the broad knowledge base here .

I was wondering if a full manual body could be converted back . The two parts that are different in a RMVB are the steel separator plate and the cast transfer plate. The separator plate can be replaced with a stock one but the transfer plate has several channel partitions removed (marked in red in pic below), so it can never be returned to stock. As advised, just get another stock VB. You can check for a missing governor by blowing air into the governor ports at the rear of the case...if the parts are missing, the air will rush right through unrestricted.
