1995 Dakota Sport 318 2WD. My searching shows 49.2 psi and other sources show 35-45 psi. My truck has 36psi while idling.

Truck is a project that runs and drives but is not licensed and insured so it never leaves my property. Just in and out of my garage and it ALWAYS runs great. But I took a tool around my neighborhood and then shut it off in my driveway. Ten min later a crank no start. I had to floor it and it started and ran terrible. Revving it up it would hit on all 8 but at idle was very rough and missing. Bought the fuel psi gauge and it shows my psi. Days later I went out to pull the electrical connector from each injector one at a time to observe fuel injector function, but the truck is running smooth and proper currently. The fuel psi reading on the gauge is the same at 38 whether it runs poorly of properly. I did buy a new Delphi pump module assembly as I thought I may need to replace the current unit. I have not installed the new unit. I'd like to know the exact psi spec this model requires and I'd like to probe the power connection at the pump to check voltage. Its OBD 1 so codes are checked via counting the blinks. Engine is all stock with no modifications whatsoever.

This weekend I plan on checking connections/splices for corrosion and hopefully probe the connector at the pump for power. I see my model has the fuel filter as part of the fuel pump module assembly. I do have a new Delphi module.

So my model does not have an inline fuel filter. Currently the truck runs wonderfully. I looked inside/ the bottom side of the junction box and all looked great. I unraveled the sheathing tape for the wiring bundle under the junction box and all looked good. I unplugged the ECU and saw no corrosion in that connection. I attempted to insert back probes into the connector that plugs into the fuel pump module, but I could not get a connection due to the confined obstructed location. But for now all is good and I will dig in more if the problem returns. Thank you.
