In my 70 Swinger I currently have an aftermarket Kenwood stereo under the bench seat. Since it is so hard to get at, I want to install it in the dash (rally). I know the dash bezel needs to be cut to accommodate an aftermarket radio, but what about the dash frame? I put an aftermarket radio in my 69 Dart (standard dash) and all I had to do was open up the radio bezel. It fit into the dash frame with no cutting involved so I was just wondering if my 70 would be any different.

since i can't give you a definitive answer, consider this a bump to those that know more than i do..........[which wouldn't take much. biggrin]

Thanks for the bump. I have found a couple pics of rally dash frames on the internet and it looks like the opening is big enough for an aftermarket radio so hopefully mine is the same.

are you going to buy a reproduction radio dash bezel and save your original in case you would want to reinstall the original radio, or is your original bezel not really the nicest to begin with, therefore cutting it up wouldn't be a big deal, or does the radio you intend to use have a big enough bezel to cover the area where the original bezel resides ?
just tossing things out there you may have not thought of.
not trying to cause any confusion or grief.
