I recall before the repops came out they were getting pretty high for the time period for nos or great used.
One would think seeing this another run of repops might be profitable.

When people expect parts to be available indefinitely, like Chips Ahoy cookies at Walmart, this happens.
When was the last run of these pie tins? Close to twenty years ago, if not more?
Just like Fram's CA332V air filters. Everyone thought, they'll buy one when they need it. Then Fram stopped production, the same people got caught with their pants down, and prices shot up quickly. Of course, the same people bitched and moaned about the prices.

So true, So very very true Having been on that side of the hobby. I learned long ago if you think you might need it later, but it now. And is why I buy wear items I may need for my car at a later date. I'll especially look for NOS if I can , quality repops if I cant find NOS Last summer I bought one of the currently avail repop air cleaner elements for my car, even though mine has a K+N in it. K+Ns are long sold out

Why would they need rights? There's not a Chrysler logo on them? Now the Road Runner pie tins, that's different. They all have the same simple stamping, They're aluminum so easy on tooling. And a printed top. Not a very intricate item. And... It's a item that stacks well and shouldn't take up much inventory space IF you store them unpackaged. Or ship them on a pallet on a boat I'm surprised someone didn't counterfeit them by now.

I guess you weren't around when John Homatus repopped the pie tins in the early 90's and got sued by Chrysler and lost his ass. He is local to me and I used to do business with him. He also repopped the first run of Hemi exhaust manifolds and was sued then again, he had to not have the casting numbers on them and all had to have the same date code...

Back in the early 1990's when I started reproducing the E-Body 4 speed shifter mounting brackets I was wholesaling them to several people.
When I had the pattern for the mold made up I didn't include the casting part number or the Pentastar. The Pentastar is obviously a tradmarked logo.
It was either Ben Snobar or Wayne Brewer that questioned why I didn't put the casting number on them. I said I didn't want to get sued over it.
Their reply was they can't copyright a number, it's just a number.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

I’m not sure how much demand there is for these. When this was discussed on fbbo, I put up an ad for a 440 magnum one I have that was glued down to a breather. It looks great for a driver.
Not one response and the package cost well below what one for sale on eBay and a new breather setup would cost you. Way way below. I’d still sell it and get me a new breather to go under the correct tin I have on the car now.
I also think in a world of 3D printing, it’d be easy enough to make a plastic one and sell it for well under what the old tin ones used to cost before they skyrocketed. Ot everybody needs a concours piece and you can see that by the decals I’ve seen on breathers over the years. “Good enough” is good enough for many builds.

Don't remember that specific one. But I remember failed stuff like TDM in So Cal making injection molded E-body panels, but not accounting for shrinkage in late 80's/early 90's. And the first rallye rim repops coming from Dennis Kirban the GTO guy. Maybe the graphics designed on the pie tins is an original design. Like artwork ??? They repro stuff like sway bar bushing brackets or muffler hangers that don't have stamped part number and sort of a function part. Do you need Chrysler's ok to repro those things?

Classic Industries just wrote me back saying they have not been involved with these pie tins being produced. Interesting, that is not what someone in the know told me, and he used to work at Direct Connection...

They forwarded me to some other places to ask as maybe they don't really know who makes them. They may buy them from a distributor to resell, but even that group they buy them from may be just another middle man, and not the actual manufacture. If I get someone to write me back with a good answer I'll update everyone. https://www.ebay.com/itm/176583871932

I have a feeling this will trace back to disfunction at the shell that once was Chrysler corp. like they left the tooling in a shed someplace or never got it back from the guy they loaned it too.

Really cant see it being ultra hard in 2024 to stamp out some pie tins and do some screen print or? Might take China or India though.
Anyone ever think to inquire with like vans auto or any other that sells many repop items?

Someone on FBBO site said they were made by a company why that has 3 plants in Iowa. And Chrysler decide not to reorder.
I have no idea on the validity of that statement.
Of course he was selling NOS ones.
