Seen a nice 70 Bee on there seem's to be running fairly well.

Is it just me or has viewership dropped about 75% for this? I remember 10's of thousands watching the feed and way more people in the stands. They need to do something to get more big tire 6 sec cars involved like there use to be over a decade ago. Every year its Bailey, the blue corvette, the javlin and thats it.

I’d be guilty Dart 500…. man I used to have it on my laptop at work and my phone so I could listen to the broadcast, then go watch when someone of interest would come up to the line. I think the biggest thing for the longest time was Drag weeks #1 ambassador Mopar Billy G would work up such a story leading up to the event that you almost had to listen. It was like reading a book and you couldn’t put it down and miss the last chapter. The last group of interest for me was the Bowers/Miller/Shellhamer entry but there again, had a story line of one old car, one dyno mule W8 mill, and a chassis fab guy throwing their stuff together and making a run at it (winner small block n/a that year). I had every intention of watching it this year as our west coasts very own Chris Thompson was running in his small block boosted Dart, but Monday came, couldn’t find the link, and just didn’t get into it the rest of the week.

Unlimited could have been a lot better this year, Tom Baily could not get his car ready, Dave Schroder went out early as did Ned Dunphy in his very cool blue Viper. The Viper is a car to watch if he can get cooling issues solved he is a potential winner. I feel the car is capable of five second runs.

Next year could more interesting however as David and Brian were saying that Larry Larson has a new engine for his pickup and plans to run next year. They also said that Dave Ahokas' Camaro has been sold and it being updated to modern standards by someone who knows what they are doing. Does anyone know who that is?

As I am sure you know the top three cars this year were all from the Unlimited Iron class which is a step down from Unlimited but in my opinion it was still a good show.

Rumor is that Jeff Lutz will be making a comeback next year as well.

It's not cheap to run the event with a Unlimited car, only to get a jacket, and guitar.

On the last Steve Morris youtube video, they stated that one reason for the Viper cooling problem was that the driver forgot to turn on the cooling fan. whistling

I'd love to sit and watch it live on the computer, but I just don't have time during the middle of the day. But the replay will definitely get watched. I would think over time the replay gets watched much more than the original live feed did.

If you upgraded your Commadore 64 to a laptop, you could bring it in the bathroom, during tuba lessons...

They said Larson and Lutz are both building new cars, well it sounds like Larson is refreshing the truck. So those two should help some. They need a bit of a format change in my opinion, what that would be I can't exactly tell ya.

Anyone know what the story is on that Green 70 Dart that was clicking off the high 7 sec passes?

Another format change could be what they did on the final day many years ago. They put all the cars, regardless of class or ET, into a heads up ladder. It was great because the slower car won over half the time. It made things really interesting!

It didn't seem to take off well, most people went ahead and packed up when the main event was over.

Rocky Mountain does some kind of shootout deal on the last day based off the average of the previous 4 days. I usually check in on the results for that event but have a hard time actually following it so I don't know the exact setup for the final day shootout.
