Looking for pictures of ORIGINAL trunk mats to verify colors and patterns. FOUND a stash one of my GREAT Mopar buddys had sent me a LONG time ago. Great color/patter samples. Think there are only 5 patterns (including the Burtex pattern. 69 Coronet - Houndstooth pattern 70 Charger - Herringbone pattern 66 Coronet - Gray plaid UNKNOWN - Tan plaid Burtex - Not sure how I'd ever duplicate that patter/color Others? (I'm definately not intertested in 62 and earlier one off colors/patterns) PS Looking for decent trunk mats tro duplicate. I'd be willing to pay for them and cover shipping. Only looking for ones people would want to get rid of. NEVER to be seen again. No strings attached. No promises that I wont be in a fatal car crash tomorrow. Not looking to be indebted for life. Hope that was clear.

i have the mat from my 69 charger i an not going to use. i believe it to be original, as it was in the car when i bought it in 1970, and i can't recall ever replacing it. it has what appears to be the original chrysler white screen printed [?] number[s] on the back, along with the pentastar. i just laid it laid out in the driveway, with the bottom side up, and took several pictures of it, but as i didn't have my glasses on, i don't know how the pictures turned out. i tried to download my camera just now, but the batteries are low, so it's being recharged. i'll download later and post them if yuo may be interested.

Small piece of an original 70 Challenger trunk mat - Can I get that sample? I thought all 70-71 E and 71 B bodies got the Burtex mats. I can remember like it was yesterday peeling up my ORIGINA:L BURTEX MAT where the foam had stuck to the trunk floor. Who woulda ever thought they'd be worth $1500-$2500?!?!? PS That pattern doesn't appear to "repeat" on that sample. Even on larger samples I have I can't see where the pattern "repeats" on some of them.

Jim I have the original 1972 trunk mat from my Satellite Sebring Plus. It is very fragile but intact. Is this something you would want to reproduce?? Has all the markings and date code on the backside too. Ron Sannino Thanks Ron, but of all things I have a 73 Satellite thats about in the same shape - not bad. You think thats "Burtex"? I tore a corner of the the one I have to test. It's definately some kinda fabric. Kinda like the stuff they call "needle punched" like "felt". It does have a foam backing too. Now I see what Dave Walden was up against when he told me to do it RIGHT, he'd have to invest in a new (expensive) printer technology? And that was his line of work. But the printers he had were musch smaller I'd bet - never took him up on his invite. I'm somewhat familiar with the various technologies. Like Latex printers and UVLED printers. Diff technologies have pluses and minuses. Latex is flexible and has the best whites. But soaks in to the material (except rubber obviously). UV can be "built up" with multiple passes to create 3D texture and "drys" instantly with the UV LED.

I have a very small sample from a 70 Challenger as well. Appears to match closely with EV2RTSE’s example. It’s only about 2”x1” but I’m happy to send it to you if you think it will help. Thanks Floyd. It appears to be the same as the 70 Charger sample I have. I'll document the application though.

Absolutely, I should be able to drop it in the mail tomorrow. PLEASE tell us you'll reproduce the e-body mat, I missed out on the ones from ECS, I figured maybe they would be back in stock after Covid or whatever but it would seem they won't be doing any more of them. The one I picked up in the meantime to hold me over is not much better than a shower curtain.

I have a 71 RR and looked at this years ago, seems like 70 and up until maybe 72, or 74 the E and B bodies got what I guess you would call Burtex mats. The pattern is woven into the mat and not printed. I have a original I rescued from a 71 SSP in a junk yard. ECS made that run for E bodies which I guess they won't do any more, but NOBODY except them has ever made the correct mat. I would pay good money for the correct mat for my 71. These mat look so much better that the cheap looking one used in the earlier cars.

I really don't know the proper name/term for my mat, I see you stated if it is Burtex you were unsure how to reproduce that type. I wish a "Magic Eraser" would erase all the dirt and stains on my piece!!! I presently have a REM mat in the car which is the best reproduction I've seen so far but also not even close. If you ever were to make them I'd be a buyer so there's your first sale!!! Are my pennies enough to get these into production??? Ha Ha I think I know the answer!! Keep doing what you do!! Ron Sannino

These mat look so much better that the cheap looking one used in the earlier cars. On the Burtex, the pattern was printed with a primative "paint" (latex?) technology that soaked in but not throught the "burlap". The ones ECS did werent Burtex. The material the factory used on the old, what felt like "rubber" pads, was called Mass Loaded Vinyl. Basically, the cheapest rubber like material but "loaded" with literally ground up stone or even powdered metalks to make it heavy for sound deadening.

I have a NOS Burtex mat I bought years ago. It's still rolled up in the tube. I'll dig it out for you. The Holy Grail! That'd be cool to see.

Are you thinking about making repos of Burtex mats? I also have a set of dealer installed floor mats that say Chrysler Parts on them that fit C and B body cars.
